Each year an increasing number of students from chandigarh / tri-city are excelling in the studies and making a mark at the national level. DEEPAK TIWARI of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37-D and Hanish Aggarwal of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, Chandigarh jointly emerged the Tricity toppers in All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE - Class XII) results declared by CBSE on Saturday.
The CBSE result of class 12th – 2016 has been declared with over all passing percentage of girls at 88.58%, and pass percentage of boys at 78.85%. Certainly, girls are outshining boys.
While Delhi based Sukriti Gupta of Montfort School (Delhi) topped nationally with 497 of 500, TriCity Girls are going up all the way in Humanities, Commerce & Medical securing top positions.
TriCity Star Students:
1. Mehak Sharma secured 97.4% in Commerce topper of CBSE +2 Board Exam at Government Model School in Sector 16 Chandigarh.
2. Anushka and Sonakshi Bhushan – both students of Humanities of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, shared the second rank in tri-city with 98%.
3. Deepak Tiwari of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37-D and Hanish Aggarwal of Delhi Public School, Sector 40 secured 98.2% in non-medical
4. The third rank in the Tricity was shared by three girls two from Commerce stream, while one was from Humanities with 97.4% each. Mehak Sharma, from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16 and Hitasha from Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 were from Commerce, Anupriya Dhonchak from Bhavan Vidyalaya is from Humanities.
Even after scoring remarkable percentage in CBSE examination, Students feel there is no time to celebrate the achievement as IIT-JEE (Advanced) examination has been scheduled.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared RESULTS of IIT-JEE (Mains) 2016 on Wednesday, and a total of 1,031 candidates from Chandigarh qualified for the JEE (Advanced), which is now scheduled to be held on May 22. A total number of 12.07 lakh candidates had registered for the IIT exam across India, out of whom only 1,54,032 candidates have now qualified for the JEE (Advanced). A total of 2,073 candidates from Punjab and 4,358 candidates from Haryana are now eligible to take the JEE (Advanced) test.
