Monkey Menace in Chandigarh

Monkey menace is not new for tri-city. The ghastly menace struck the city again when a monkey bit 5 people in two days in Sector 69 of Mohali. The monkey has created havoc in the locality by barging in the houses of the residents, destroying their belongings as well as biting them.

One of the victims was a 15 years old girl, Suman was bit on her arms. Suman is getting treated at the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali. She was attacked by the monkey when she was playing outside her house. Suman is a resident of Kumbra village in Sector 69 and a student of Class XI.

It is reported that this monkey was earlier caught by the Forest Department but it escaped due to their negligence. The residents of Sector 69 Chandigarh are slightly relaxed as the Forest Department has caught the monkey. Residents are hoping that menace doesn’t return. The authorities should be alert and be prepared with appropriate equipment to tackle the situation if it arises again.
